POWERCRUISE TO TICKLE FANS PINK AT EASTERN CREEK

Car enthusiasts from across New South Wales will be tickled pink from February 26 to 28 by Eastern Creek's Annual Powercruise.

The Carline Mufflers Powercruise is a unique event that combines the very best features of a car show with several forms of motor sport.

Powercruise will gather together owners of Australian and American V8 muscle cars, modified 4 and 6-cylinder imports, Pro Street drag cars, drift cars and hot rods for a three-day festival of cruising and competition driving events.

One vehicle owner, Nicole Tremain, cannot wait for the arrival of Powercruise.

Five years in the making, her modified 1972 LC Torana, clad in an unmissable bright pink paint job, will debut at this year's Powercruise.

Like most of the attendees at Powercruise, each owner has a special bond with their car, and Nicole is no different.
"It was love at first sight," she said. "It was just a shell, unpainted, covered in rust - but I could see the potential in her.

"It's been a long and challenging build, but the end result is a car that says everything about me - classy, sexy, brave and fast.

"I'm really looking forward to getting out there and giving the boys a run for their money. Being a girl in a male arena always guarantees me looks, but better are the ones I'll get when I beat them," Nicole said.

Powercruise will give her the opportunity to prove that girls can do it too, with on-track activities divided into two sections - speed-limited cruising sessions and competition driving events.

Registered competitors who go cruising can carry passengers around the track.

Formal competition events include Off-Street Racing - a two-car elimination-style competition over distances of up to 200 metres - high-speed drifting, burnouts and a dyno power shootout.

One of the most popular events amongst spectators and entrants alike is the powerskid competition where drivers attempt to perform the longest straight-line burn-out.

"There are very few places in Sydney for the vehicle enthusiast to go, but Eastern Creek is a great location for Powercruise as it's a safe environment for us to compete", Nicole said.

Carline Mufflers Powercruise will be held February 25 to 28. Further details on the event are available via www.powercruise.com Tickets are available online or at the gate.
