LEXUS STAGES WORLD DEBUT OF CT 200h F SPORT AT AIMS

Lexus has staged the global debut of the CT 200h F Sport model at the Australian International Motor Show (AIMS) in advance of the model's introduction to Australia in the first half of 2011.

F Sport CT 200h receives a number of visual and performance enhancements in keeping with Lexus' F Sport model line-up.

Performance and exterior enhancements include unique suspension, front and rear styling, alloy wheels and badging, along with the choice of Lexus' unique Flame Blue exterior colour.

Inside, F Sport model CT 200h will receive optional unique interior trim, F Sport steering wheel, sports pedals, scuff plates, instrument panel and privacy glass.

CT 200h F Sport models will feature Lexus' unique body performance damper, which has been designed to improve ride and handling.

Lexus has used the damping technology as an effective way of increasing torsional rigidity, suppressing vibrations and contributing to ride comfort without the penalty of significant extra weight.

The lateral dampers, deployed front and rear, are key elements in a detailed package of design and engineering measures that also includes strategic strengthening and carefully-gauged welding quality throughout the vehicle.

Lexus chief executive Tony Cramb said the debut of the F Sport model at AIMS demonstrated the importance of CT for the Australian market.

"CT 200h gives Lexus a presence in the growing luxury compact segment," he said.

"There is a clear trend to small vehicles that do not compromise on features - in short, CT is a small car with all the luxury features of a large car.

"CT 200h F Sport models will add even greater appeal to a vehicle that - with its hybrid drivetrain and list of advanced features - is set to become Australia's most advanced luxury hatch.

"The arrival of the CT 200h in 2011 reinforces yet again Lexus' commitment to hybrid vehicles.

"It cements our real-world hybrid advantage in the luxury market," Mr Cramb said.

LEXUS IS 350 SETS NEW PRICING BENCHMARK

Lexus' IS 350 will be priced from a segment-leading $64,800*, giving customers outstanding value.

The 233kW, 3.5-litre V6-powered IS sedan has been priced to bring true competition back to the high output six-cylinder luxury vehicle segment.

It will feature a price advantage of more than $20,000* over its nearest rival.

Lexus Australia chief executive Tony Cramb said that for too long customers looking for a powerful six-cylinder luxury sedan have been left with little choice.

"Luxury vehicle buyers looking for an engaging and dynamic luxury sedan need look no further. IS 350 with its class-leading pricing will be exactly what they've been waiting for," Mr Cramb said.

"As part of Lexus Australia's negotiation process for IS 350, pricing was always top of mind.

"The entry price of $64,800 really throws the challenge to our competition," Mr Cramb said.

"We are certain that IS 350 will be an extremely popular choice amongst buyers for its high levels of specification and power, engaging drive and its class-leading price.

"IS 350 pricing is not apologetic. It's realistic and supports our long-held belief that luxury vehicles shouldn't be priced highly just because they can be," Mr Cramb said.

The Lexus IS 350 will feature three models at launch - Prestige, F Sport and Sports Luxury - priced from $64,800.

* Price comparisons made against competitive vehicles with similar engine capacities including AUDI A4: 3.2 FSI Quattro, BMW 3 Series: 3.0 335i M Sport, Mercedes C Class: 3.0 300 Avant

LEXUS SELLS ALL AUSTRALIA-BOUND LFAs

Lexus' $700,000 LFA supercar will become one of the rarest vehicles on Australian roads, with confirmation that all eight vehicles destined for Australia have been sold.

Lexus chief executive Tony Cramb said LFA has solidified Lexus' reputation for personal service and support.

"Each and every Lexus LFA customer has had personal dialogue with senior Lexus Australia representatives," Mr Cramb said.

"Lexus has forged a strong relationship with each LFA owner. This relationship will continue well into the future, encompassing technical and service support and access to Lexus' exclusive Encore program.

"Lexus Australia is proud to have confirmed LFA for Australia and looks forward to offering further exclusive product in the future.

"In many ways LS 400 put Lexus on the map 20 years ago by redefining the luxury vehicle," Mr Cramb said.

"Today, LFA becomes the new definition of the Lexus brand - unique, innovative and most of all desirable."

LEXUS TO GROW F SPORT MODELS

Lexus Australia has introduced three new F Sport models at the Australian International Motor Show and outlined its plans to increase the F Sport range over the coming years.

The models revealed included the newly launched IS 250 and 350 F Sport along with the soon-to-be-released CT 200h F Sport.

F Sport models take inspiration from Lexus' LFA supercar. They offer a sports- focused model for those who dream of owning an F model - such as IS F.

Lexus' "F" strategy positions LFA at the top of the range as a purely inspirational "halo" vehicle.

Sitting between LFA and F Sport models will be Lexus' F range of vehicles, first introduced in 2008 with the IS F.

From today, Lexus will offer a dedicated F Sport model on a number of its vehicle lines including IS and CT 200h vehicles.

F Sport vehicles will offer a range of performance and visual enhancements over other models.

Lexus chief executive Tony Cramb said the introduction of F Sport models was further evidence of Lexus' growing vehicle range.

"Twenty years ago, Lexus offered just one dedicated luxury vehicle. Today, that dynamic has changed," he said.

"Twenty years on, Lexus leads the way with luxury hybrids, offers more than five model lines with over 33 model variants, and is building a growing performance vehicle portfolio.

"The coming years for Lexus will be defined by a growth in hybrid vehicles and performance-oriented product - driven by our two halo vehicles LS 600hL and LFA.

"Mirroring our commitment to expand hybrid availability, Lexus is working hard to offer a performance-orientated model across our entire vehicle range," Mr Cramb said.
