• Corolla: Australia's best-selling car
• Toyota: the country's leading automotive brand for the 11th consecutive year
• Camry: Australia's top-selling mid-size car 20 years in a row
• Toyota: commercial-vehicle sales leader for 35 years running
Toyota's Corolla is Australia's best-selling vehicle, topping the national sales chart in 2013.
Corolla's victory helped Toyota extend its overall market leadership to an 11th consecutive year.
It was the first time Toyota has produced the country's top-selling car with local customers buying 43,498 Corolla hatches and sedans.
Camry - built in Australia since 1987 - confirmed its iconic status among local motorists by recording a remarkable 20th year in a row as the nation's best-selling mid-size car.
Corolla and Camry, along with HiLux which retained its mantle as the country's workhorse of choice, enabled Toyota dealers to sell a market-leading 214,630 vehicles for the year - more than 102,000 ahead of the nearest rival.
It is the first time in more than three decades that an automotive brand has strung together 11 consecutive years of market leadership.
Toyota's performance in 2013 led the entire automotive industry to achieve record sales of 1.136 million. It is the fourth year running and the sixth time overall that Australians have bought more than one million new motor vehicles in a calendar year.
Toyota Australia's executive director sales and marketing Tony Cramb said Toyota was proud of its sales achievements, which he attributed to the loyalty of the buying public, a broad range of value-for-money vehicles and the support of employees, suppliers and dealers.
"Corolla takes the title of Australia's best-selling car with local motorists buying well over 1.25 million Corollas in a period spanning almost half a century," Mr Cramb said.
"This long-term success demonstrates clearly that each new generation of Corolla has addressed the needs of the customer at the time - and today's customers have made it clear the current 11th generation is the best Corolla ever," he said.
"In Camry, we have a car that has been built in Australia, by Australians, for Australians since 1987 and has been the best seller in its class since 1994 - and last year outsold its nearest competitor by more than 17,000 sales.
"We produced 106,000 vehicles in Australia last year. Toyota remained the country's leading automotive exporter with more than 74,000 of these vehicles shipped overseas, primarily to the Middle East."
HiLux, in 4x2 and 4x4 variants, was Australia's best-selling light-commercial and four-wheel drive vehicle as Toyota notched up its 35th year running as the market leader in commercial-vehicle sales.
Mr Cramb said Toyota expected economic and market conditions in 2014 to produce continued strong sales for the company and the industry.
"Toyota is targeting in excess of 200,000 sales for the 10th time and we expect another solid result for the industry with more than one million sales for the seventh time," he said.
Mr Cramb said the shape of the Australian market continued to shift in 2013 with record sales of SUVs and light-commercial vehicles. Passenger-car sales, for the first time, accounted for less than half the Australian market.
"Toyota was the top seller in all three areas of the market with Corolla, HiLux and Camry among the top 10 sellers overall, plus a strong increase in sales for the latest RAV4 that was launched early in the year.
"LandCruiser continued its strength with Prado and the 200 Series finishing at the top of their respective segments, as did HiAce van and bus.
"A further highlight for Toyota was the fun and excitement brought to the entire brand by the 86, which was Australia's best-selling sports car," Mr Cramb said.
